Happy to receive the Performance Award 2005
Key accounter Christian Holzwarth

The Performance Award 2005 was a commendation not only for CEO Markus Birner, but also for sales director Tim Lehmeier and Christian Holzwarth, the key accounter for VDO. As the name suggests, Christian Holzwarth is the link in the business relationship to Siemens VDO. His area includes the cost-intensive and complicated production of cockpits, such as the one for the new Peugeot PSA 7. Over a period of seven years, Birner is to supply 750,000 sub-assemblies annually up to 2012. Several production lines have been set up in Kümmersbruck for manufacturing in the field of the automobile industry: apart from cockpits, products for other applications in interior fittings are also made, such as sub-assemblies for locking systems, engine management or operating elements.

On being presented with the Performance Award 2005 by Siemens VDO:
“This is confirmation of the last few years. We started business relations with Siemens VDO in 1995, and at that time we were newcomers, but we’ve worked our way up to become one of the preferred suppliers in the cockpit field within Europe. Our particular strength is the way we consistently accompany the customer, right through from the initial inquiry to implementation. I reckon our chances for the future are decidedly positive because behind Siemens VDO there’s immense potential. We can see the possibility of doubling or even tripling our existing volume. In the context of the cockpit, there’ll be an ever-increasing flow of information from car to driver, so the demand for parts like this will rise even more. And as these are very sophisticated parts, there’s still a future for production within this spectrum, also in Germany.”
